Pre-existing conditions aren’t covered by Medi-Share
You may worry about being denied coverage if you have a pre-existing health condition. Medi-Share does not deny coverage for pre-existing medical conditions. However, it has certain rules and a phase-in period before coverage becomes full. Medi-Share cannot be joined by women who are pregnant, have high cholesterol or blood pressure. You must have been a member of Medi-Share for at least 36 consecutive months to be eligible.
Unlike insurance, Medi-Share does not cover primary care services. Well-child visits for up to six years old and one annual physical for each member are exempt. You’ll also need to pay out of pocket for most preventive services, such as flu shots, if you have them.
